Arlington measures 26-square-miles and has no officially incorporated towns but instead is a self-governing county. Some of the most exclusive and upscale neighborhoods in the country can be found within its borders. A good number of these are in the National Register of Historic Places and are zoned as historic preservation districts. The Pentagon and Reagan National Airport are also within Arlington’s borders.
